Privacy Policy — Pixwand
Last updated: 5 October 2026
Pixwand is a photo and video editor. This policy explains what happens to your
information when you use it. In short: your photos, videos and
recordings never leave your device. The app shows ads provided by
Google AdMob, and Google collects some device and usage information to serve
and measure those ads, as described below.
Your photos and videos
- You choose photos and videos with Apple's system picker. The app only
receives the items you pick.
- All editing — filters, adjustments, crop and markup, slideshow rendering,
trimming, joining clips, captions and stickers — happens entirely on your device. Your media is never uploaded
anywhere and is never shared with advertisers or anyone else.
- Edited results are written to your photo library only when you tap
Save to Photos, or handed to another app only when you use the
system Share sheet or Share to Facebook. Saving requires the
"Add to Photos" permission; only Share to Facebook
with a video also asks to read your library (see below).
- Temporary working files are kept in the app's private storage while you
work and are deleted by the app.
Sharing to Facebook
- Share to Facebook (shown only when the Facebook app is
installed) opens Facebook's own composer through Meta's Facebook SDK.
Nothing is posted until you post it there.
- A photo is handed straight to the Facebook app. Facebook accepts a video
only from your photo library, so Pixwand first saves the video there and
then asks to read your library to find that copy. "Limited" access is
enough; Pixwand reads nothing else.
- The Facebook SDK starts only when you tap Share to Facebook.
Its automatic app events and advertising-ID collection are turned off,
so Pixwand sends Meta no usage or purchase data. Like any app, the SDK
contacts Meta's servers when it runs; what you post is then governed by
Meta's Privacy Policy.
Deleting your data
Pixwand keeps no account and stores nothing about you on any server, so
there is nothing for us to delete. Your edits live only on your device:
deleting the app removes them. Anything you posted to Facebook is yours to
delete there (open the post → ••• → Delete), and you can remove Pixwand's
photo access any time in Settings → Pixwand → Photos.
Microphone
If you record a voice-over for a slideshow, the app asks for microphone
access and records audio only while you are actively recording.
The recording is saved on your device and used as the slideshow's soundtrack.
It is never uploaded or shared by the app.
In-app purchase
Pixwand offers an optional one-time purchase, Remove Ads.
Payment is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store; the app never
sees your payment details. The app only learns from Apple whether you own
the purchase, so it can turn ads off, and keeps that on your device.
Location
Location is used only for the optional place tag ("📍 place
name") you can add to a video, and only in these ways:
- Where a video was filmed. If a video you picked already
contains the location your camera saved in it, the app reads it from the
file to suggest the place name. No permission is needed for this.
- Your current location. Only if you tap Use Current
Location does the app ask for location permission ("While Using the
App") and read your location once.
- To turn a location into a place name, the coordinates are sent to
Apple's geocoding service (part of iOS). The app does not store your
location, send it to us, or share it with advertisers or anyone else.
- You can always type a place name instead, and you can turn location
access off at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security →
Location Services → Pixwand.
Advertising
Pixwand is free and supported by ads. Ads are provided by
Google AdMob (Google LLC) through the Google Mobile Ads SDK.
We do not run our own analytics and we do not receive personal information
about you; AdMob only gives us aggregated reports (for example, how many ads
were shown).
To show ads, measure how they perform and prevent fraud, Google may collect:
- Device identifiers — the Identifier for Advertising
(IDFA) only if you allow tracking (see below), and other
app-level identifiers.
- IP address, which may be used to estimate your general
location (country or city — not your precise location).
- Device and app information — device model, operating
system version, language, app version.
- Ad interactions — which ads were shown and whether they
were tapped.
- Diagnostics — ad load times and errors.
How Google uses this information is described in
Google's Privacy Policy and
How Google
uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
Your choices about ads
- Tracking permission (iPhone and iPad). The app asks for
permission before the IDFA can be used to personalise ads. If you choose
Ask App Not to Track, you will still see ads, but they will not be
personalised using that identifier. You can change this at any time in
Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland.
Before any ads are requested, the app shows Google's consent message so
you can choose how your data is used for advertising. You can review or
change your choice at any time from Privacy choices in the app.
- Personalised ads in general. You can manage ad
personalisation from Google at
adssettings.google.com.
Network
Editing works fully offline. The app connects to the internet only to load
ads through the Google Mobile Ads SDK and, when you use
Share to Facebook, through Meta's Facebook SDK; if you are offline,
ads simply don't appear and everything else keeps working.
Children
Pixwand is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect
personal information from children. The app itself collects no personal data
from anyone; ad requests are handled by Google as described above.
